The Secret Garden, Frances Hodgson Burnett These are challenging books and ones that I would not really recommend to young children! But you (parents) should read them!!! I have to say, that I have not read all of these yet.

If you are of the same opinion, or are biased one way or the other, try to hold that in a little when doing these comparisons. Now, I have to begin this by saying that I am rather biased. This was made into a very fun movie in the 90’s. We read Matilda by Roald Dahl this month, so we are doing our first comparison on Matilda. I decided we need to start doing more formal comparisons, so I created a little worksheet : The Book Vs. Often they are books we read together as a family, but not always. It is a reward to my kids for reading the book. We have started a new tradition this past school year and it has been really fun! We read a book, then we find the movie that has been made from the book and watch it.
